23-Year-Old Nigerian Doctor Nnani Adaobi Dies Following Russian Airstrike in Ukraine
A 23-year-old Nigerian medical doctor and graduate of Kharkiv National Medical University, Nnani Adaobi Marian, has died after succumbing to injuries sustained during a Russian airstrike in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
According to reports, Adaobi was critically injured on June 29 when Russian forces allegedly dropped aerial bombs on the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv, causing significant destruction in the area.
Despite efforts to save her life, she later died from the injuries she sustained in the attack.
Adaobi's death has drawn attention to the continued risks faced by civilians living in conflict-affected regions of Ukraine as hostilities persist.
The incident has also sparked an outpouring of condolences from Nigerians mourning the loss of the young doctor, whose life and career were cut short by the ongoing conflict.
