Our Editorial Mission
Enugu Mandate is committed to independent, accurate, and fair journalism that serves the public interest. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of professional journalism and believe that a well-informed citizenry is essential to a functioning democracy.
Accuracy and Verification
Every story published by Enugu Mandate undergoes a rigorous verification process. We require at least two independent sources for factual claims. When errors occur, we issue prompt and transparent corrections.
Independence
Our editorial decisions are made independently of commercial, political, or personal interests. Our newsroom operates separately from our advertising department, and advertisers have no influence over editorial content.
Fairness and Balance
We strive to present all sides of a story and give subjects of critical coverage an opportunity to respond. Our reporting reflects the diversity of perspectives within our community.
Source Protection
We protect the identity of confidential sources. We will not reveal a source's identity without their explicit consent, except where required by law.
Conflicts of Interest
Our journalists are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Reporters do not cover stories in which they have a personal, financial, or political interest.
Opinion and Commentary
Opinion pieces and editorials are clearly labelled and separated from news reporting. They represent the views of their authors, not necessarily those of Enugu Mandate.
Sponsored Content
Any sponsored or advertiser-funded content is clearly marked and distinguished from editorial content. Sponsored content is subject to the same factual accuracy standards as editorial content.
Corrections Policy
When we make an error, we correct it promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted within the article and, where significant, published as a separate correction notice.
