BREAKING: Rangers Win NPFL Title
Rangers International Football Club of Enugu have officially been crowned champions of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Ikorodu City at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos. �
The crucial win secured the Flying Antelopes’ second league title in three years under coach Fidelis Ilechukwu and further strengthened the club’s place among Nigeria’s most successful football teams. �
Team captain Chidiebere N’Obodo emerged as the hero of the night after scoring both goals for Rangers. He opened scoring in the 30th minute before adding a second goal in the 55th minute. Ikorodu City later pulled one back through Moses Ali, but Rangers held firm to secure the victory and the championship. �
Heading into the final matchday, Rangers were leading the NPFL table with 65 points, narrowly ahead of Rivers United who had 64 points. The victory ensured Rangers finished top regardless of results elsewhere. �
The triumph has sparked celebrations among supporters in Enugu and across the country, with fans praising the players, coaching crew, and management for an impressive season filled with resilience and consistency.
Football stakeholders have also described the title victory as another major milestone for Rangers International, a club widely regarded as one of the traditional giants of Nigerian football.
