Chaos At Enugu ICC: 2026 ANAN Inductees Decry Poor Organization, Sound Failure After Paying Over ₦316,000 In Fees

Discontent and frustration marred the recent induction and oath-taking ceremony hosted by the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) at the Enugu International Conference Centre (ICC) starting from 17th August, 2026 to 19th August, 2026, as newly admitted members slammed organizers over unprofessional conduct and substandard facility management.

Inductees who traveled to Coal City for the professional milestone reported severe administrative flaws, crowd control failures, and widespread technical glitches throughout the venue. A major point of outrage was the total failure of the ICC hall’s public address and microphone systems, which left thousands of candidates unable to hear proceedings, administrative instructions, or the official oath-taking declarations.

The logistical breakdown occurred despite candidates making substantial compulsory payments, including ₦20,400 for preliminary registration and an additional ₦296,400 for the induction exercise. Affected candidates questioned the management of both the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria leadership and the Enugu event coordination team, insisting that the high fee structure should guarantee a seamless, world-class professional event.

Beyond the failing sound acoustics, inductees cited severe overcrowding and disorganized registration queues as evidence of poor planning. Many frustrated participants argued that unless significant upgrades are made to technical facilities at the Enugu International Conference Centre, high-profile professional bodies should cease hosting national exercises at the venue.

Neither the national leadership of ANAN nor the operators of the Enugu ICC have issued an official response regarding the administrative lapses or requests for fee reviews. Updates on professional standards and upcoming institutional events remain available on the ANAN Official Portal.
