Court Grants Blessing CEO N20 Million Bail in Alleged N69.15 Million Fraud Case

An Ikeja Special Offences Court has granted social media personality, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, bail in the sum of N20 million in connection with her ongoing trial over an alleged N69.15 million fraud.

Delivering the ruling, Justice Rahman Oshodi admitted the defendant to bail with two responsible sureties in the same amount. Although the prosecution did not oppose the bail application, the court noted that it carefully considered the gravity of the allegations and the applicable legal provisions before granting the request.

As part of the bail conditions, each surety is required to provide either a three-year bank statement or proof of fixed deposits valued at not less than N20 million. The court also directed that both the defendant and her sureties undergo verification through the Lagos State Judiciary's Bail Information Management System (BIMS).

In addition, Justice Oshodi ordered the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) to place the defendant under travel restrictions pending the conclusion of the trial, preventing her from leaving the country without the court's approval.

The matter was subsequently adjourned until October 12 for the continuation of trial proceedings.

Blessing CEO was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on June 9 on a two-count charge bordering on alleged stealing and obtaining money by false pretences. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.

According to the EFCC, the defendant allegedly obtained N69.15 million from Hope Chiropractic Health Clinic Ltd. in March 2025 after allegedly representing that she would secure and lease a property in Lekki, Lagos, to the company. The anti-graft agency maintains that the alleged representation was false and formed the basis of the charges before the court.

The trial is expected to continue on the adjourned date as both the prosecution and the defence prepare to present their respective cases.
