Ekene Agala Arraigned in Court as Theft Case Proceeds

Ekene Agala was formally arraigned in court on July 2, 2026, as legal proceedings commenced over multiple alleged theft-related offences.

According to available information, the widely discussed allegation that he stole ₦2.5 million has not been proven, and he was not caught in the act. Agala has continued to deny the allegation, and the matter remains under investigation.

Reports indicate that the current court proceedings are primarily based on earlier outstanding criminal complaints, with several individuals alleging that he had stolen from them on different occasions. Some of the complainants reportedly claimed to have provided evidence to support their allegations.

The recent accusation involving the alleged theft of over ₦2 million reportedly led to Agala being attacked by a mob before he was rescued and handed over to the police. He was subsequently detained at Penox Police Station, Trans-Ekulu, Enugu, pending further legal action.

The case is now before the court, where the allegations will be examined in accordance with due process.

It is important to note that Ekene Agala remains presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction.
