"Enugu Shall Rise Again": Chief Uche Nnaji Pledges Tax Relief, Single-Term Governance, and Equitable Rural Infrastructure

ENUGU, NIGERIA — Political discussions across Enugu State have sharpened following commentary from political analysts and public commentators highlighting Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji’s (Nwakaibie) campaign framework for the 2027 governorship election.

​Writing on state economic performance, political economist Chukwudi Louis Ani underscored Chief Nnaji's central campaign slogan, "Enugu Shall Rise Again." Ani noted that Nnaji's platform focuses on reversing high local business taxation, ensuring absolute transparency regarding federal allocations, and committing strictly to a single four-year term to ensure targeted, uncorrupted governance.

​Building on concerns over state development, Dr. Obinna Eneoli analyzed the current administration's infrastructure record across Enugu’s 260 political wards. Eneoli argued that concentration of project delivery within Enugu Urban—which accounts for only 42 wards across Enugu East, Enugu North, and Enugu South—leaves vast rural communities underserved. Highlighting key LGAs like Udi (20 wards) and Awgu (11 wards), Eneoli stressed that rural roads are vital for connecting agricultural producers to markets, schools, and hospitals. He argued that Chief Nnaji presents a viable alternative focused on transparent project tracking, realistic timelines, and equitable infrastructure distribution across every ward in the state.
