Is Enugu State in Economic Crisis? Concerns Over Governance, Cost of Living, and Public Welfare

IS ENUGU STATE IN ECONOMIC COMA?

Slogans are beautiful. They become worrisome when they translate to outright deception or when its interpretation connotes fear and stirs worry and hopelessness

Ndi Enugu lives in fear and worry. The property rents have gone crazy. Landlords blame the government for disturbing and affordable hikes. Water borne diseases are on the increase. The promise of water in 180 days have turned to mirage after 3 years of tortoise work and despite billions of naira wasted on the project

Traders in the markets panic when they see agents of Enugu State Government holding red tapes ,chains and keys. Government of Enugu locks up shops and even residential areas for failure to cough out huge taxes to the government. Life is brutish in Enugu.

Death rate in Enugu is high due to deliberate destruction of all sources of livelihood in Ogige Nsukka and Garriki market. Under current economic state of hopelessness, undue pressures build up, as such men and women succumb to heart attacks and strokes. This is a common trend in Enugu.

Ndi Enugu ask with concern, when shall our rescue from this life of penury come? Why ?

People who live the TOMORROW IS HERE reality wonder if the present hardship and hopelessness created by insensitivity of the government of Enugu is the tomorrow that is has arrived, then there is nothing to live for again. Life in Enugu is likened to death by installments.

The state government boasts of projects but in reality these projects are FANTASY projects that have translated to zero impact on lives of its people. Out of 260 smart schools, less than 10 percent are functioning at below 40 percent. This is largely because many of the structures in thr so called smart schools are already collapsing before they are put to use. The structures are substandard, unfit for use by our children. Many experts in construction industry called such death traps for mass burial of our school children.

The presidential hotel which gulped billions in rehabilitation is a sham. Guests hurriedly checked out because the amenities in presidential hotels do not work.

Enugu State Government spends unreasonable amounts of money for media adverts. Concerned Ndi Enugu wonder why spend such amounts to market what substandard projects. They all say the intentions are sinister and meant to hoodwink people living outside of Enugu.

The type 2 primary health centers are nothing but glorified dormitories. No facility that qualifies a place for a health center exists there. The two nursing students that made viral videos to show the state of the health centers were sanctioned.

The constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria defined the purpose of government as primarily the welfare and security of the people. Functional democracy is simply a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

In the absence of the welfare and security of the people, Ndi Enugu wonders what definition that suits its current leadership because democracy is absent in Enugu. Indigenous people who protested land grabbing by the government end up in detension facilities. Many youths are languishing in jails for exercising their right of peaceful assembly and lawful protest against land grabbing.

Tricycle operators, bus drivers wonder why the huge tolls on commercial transport operators when passengers cannot afford transportation fares. Villagers who sell vegetables and pure water are not exempt from tears, and the pains of tomorrow is here.

The government of Enugu invests heavily in media propaganda for visibility on social media but suffers from an illusion called disconnected reality syndrome.

Ndi Enugu wonders why it is difficult for the government to connect to the challenges of the people and mitigate the rising hopelessness through viable, available solutions.

In simple terms, it is not democracy, it is FASCISM, disguised in the apparel of democracy.

Concerned residents of Enugu wondered why the slogan , TOMORROW IS HERE. People reasoned that if the tomorrow that we were waiting for has arrived with lots of failed promises, then

TOMORROW IS HERE is glorified hopelessness today and death sentence by NEXT TOMORROW.

ENUGU RESCUE AGENDA of Chief Uche Nnaji Geofrey, UCHE NDI ENUGU is beyond politics. It is a solemn call to duty to restore the lost glory of the coal city state, the pride of Ndi Igbo

What Lagos is to the Yoruba Race, Kano is to Hausa, Rivers is to Niger Delta, is what Enugu is to Ndi Enugu

Enugu State is the homeland of Ndi Igbo. The TOMORROW IS HERE concept of taking all jobs and contracts of Ndi Igbo and handing over to Yoruba who are less qualified and indifferent to the people is not progressive development or political inclusion but a deliberate plot to impoverish Ndi Enugu and subjugate them to voicelessness

If mainstream media could not stop Donald Trump's determination to lead the USA with his Make America Great Again (MAGA) agenda, then no amount of cyber bullying, media trial will stop NWAKIBIE from emerging as governor of Enugu 2027
