JEZCO CHAIRMAN CHIEF JOSEPH EBERE EZEOKAFOR REGAINS FREEDOM AFTER DAYS IN CAPTIVITY

Prominent Anambra industrialist and chairman of Jezco Group of Companies, Chief Sir Joseph Ebere Ezeokafor, has regained his freedom after being held captive by armed abductors for several days.

The septuagenarian oil tycoon, who is also the father of social media personality Eberechukwu Ezeokafor (Jowi Zaza), was abducted in Awka while on his way to an early morning prayer session. His disappearance sparked widespread concern across Anambra State and the commercial sector, generating intense calls for security intervention.

According to reports covered by Daily Post Nigeria and THISDAY LIVE, Chief Ezeokafor was released late Friday night near the boundary between Anambra and Enugu states, close to Ebenebe. He was subsequently picked up by family members and safely reunited with his family. A Catholic Reverend Sister who was abducted around the same axis was also reported to have regained her freedom.

During his captivity, the kidnappers established contact with his family, initially demanding a ransom of 700 million Naira before reportedly increasing the demand to 1.5 billion Naira. While family members expressed immense relief over his safe return, law enforcement agencies confirmed that investigations remain active to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the release and apprehend those involved.
