Lion Building Media Team Demands Full Audit And Public Briefing Over Enugu Smart Green Schools Partnership With Sujimoto
ENUGU, NIGERIA — Concerns over public resource management and project execution have intensified across Enugu State, as opposition group Lion Building Media Team for Nwakaibie raised critical questions regarding state expenditure on the landmark Smart Green School initiative.
In an official public release, the advocacy group emphasized that public funds represent taxpayers' collective labor and trust, calling for immediate government accountability over multi-billion-Naira project commitments. The statement underscores growing public scrutiny surrounding project timelines and execution terms, insisting that silence or evasive measures are unacceptable where public wealth is concerned.
To restore public confidence, the group has outlined three specific demands to the Enugu State Government:
Full Financial Audit: The immediate institution of an independent, transparent investigation to audit every Naira allocated to and disbursed under the Smart Green School project.
Official Press Briefing: A comprehensive state press conference detailing current financial statuses, clear project milestones, and binding contractual obligations.
Public Account of Partner Responsibilities: Explicit disclosures outlining the exact contractual scope, delivered milestones, and financial engagements involving private partner Sujimoto Construction.
Reiterating that history retains a precise record of public stewardship, the group urged state authorities to address these demands directly to ensure taxpayers receive complete clarity on educational infrastructure spending across the 260 wards of Enugu State.
