Ohanaeze Council Accuses Enugu Governor Mbah of Using ICPC to Witch-Hunt Ex-Minister Uche Nnaji

A faction identified as the Ohanaeze Council has accused Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah of allegedly using the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to target former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji.

 

According to the council, the actions against the former minister are politically motivated and aimed at undermining his reputation and growing political influence ahead of the 2027 governorship election. The group called for fairness, due process, and the independence of anti-corruption institutions, insisting that investigations should remain free from political interference.

 

The allegations have generated public debate, with supporters of both political figures expressing differing views on the matter. As of the time of this report, no official evidence has been presented publicly to substantiate the claims made by the council, and the Enugu State Government and the ICPC have the opportunity to respond to the allegations.
