PDP Sets Up Appeal Panels to Review Complaints from Primary Elections Nationwide
The Peoples Democratic Party (Peoples Democratic Party) has announced the constitution of Appeal Panels to review complaints and petitions arising from its primary elections across presidential, governorship, national, and state assembly contests.
According to a press release issued on June 4, 2026, the party stated that the move is aimed at strengthening transparency, fairness, and internal democracy within its candidate selection process ahead of upcoming general elections.
The panels are divided into two categories: the States and National Assembly Appeals Panel, and the Governorship and Presidential Appeals Panel, with members drawn from party leaders, legal practitioners, and stakeholders across different regions of the country.
The States and National Assembly Appeals Panel is scheduled to sit on June 8 and 9, 2026, at the NWC Hall, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, while the Governorship and Presidential Appeals Panel will sit on June 10, 2026, at the same venue.
The party explained that the panels will hear and review appeals from aspirants and stakeholders who are dissatisfied with the outcome of the primaries and will make recommendations in line with the party’s constitution and electoral guidelines.
Party officials noted that the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to ensure credible candidate emergence processes and strengthen unity within the party as preparations for the general elections intensify.
The National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, signed the statement on behalf of the party.
