PETER OBI VISITS PARKLANE HOSPITAL IN ENUGU TO SUPPORT KIDNEY PATIENTS MOBILIZED BY OKWULUORA

Former Anambra State governor and presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi made an unannounced visit to the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital (Parklane) in Enugu State to extend support to kidney patients receiving medical care and dialysis treatment.

​The visit was organized following humanitarian advocacy by popular broadcaster and philanthropist Okwuluora, who mobilized public support and resources for patients suffering from end-stage renal disease at the facility. Obi spent time interacting with the patients, medical staff, and care coordinators, making personal donations and emphasizing the urgent need for systemic government intervention to subsidize expensive dialysis procedures and kidney care across the South East and the nation at large.

​The former governor praised Okwuluora for utilizing his platform for grassroots welfare and medical philanthropy, reiterating that investments in healthcare and human capital remain the most critical pillars for national development.

​"I arrived at Parklane Hospital in Enugu to stand in solidarity with kidney patients mobilized by Okwuluora. Healthcare is a basic human right, and supporting citizens undergoing demanding treatments like dialysis is a duty we must all share."

​Patients and health workers expressed deep gratitude for the visit, noting that high treatment costs remain a major barrier to survival for many families in Enugu State.
