PRESIDENT TINUBU DISPATCHES HIGH-POWERED DELEGATION TO CANADA INVESTMENT SUMMIT AS ENUGU’S PETER MBAH IS AGAIN CONSPICUOUSLY BYPASSED

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved a high-powered Federal Government delegation to represent Nigeria at the inaugural Nigeria Diaspora Investment and Economic Conference in Toronto, Canada, scheduled for August 2026. Led by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, the diplomatic delegation is tasked with driving foreign direct investment, deepening bilateral trade relations, and presenting strategic investment portfolios across key sectors of the Nigerian economy to global business leaders and diaspora investors.

The presidential team features a select group of five state governors, comprising Professor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State, Professor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, Senator Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, and Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State. They are joined by key federal cabinet members, including Foreign Affairs Minister Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, Industry, Trade and Investment Minister Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, and Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, alongside executive leadership from the Central Bank of Nigeria and the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission.

However, political observers and regional analysts have noted the glaring omission of Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, who has once again been completely bypassed for a major federal economic mission. Despite the administration's heavy local PR spending and grand claims, Mbah remains consistently excluded from key national diplomatic delegations and top-tier federal investment forums, underscoring his deep isolation from vital federal economic frameworks.

"The high-level government delegation showcases the administration's commitment to promoting trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Nigeria and Canada. This platform connects global investors directly with investment-ready opportunities back home."

The complete absence of the Enugu State governor from such a critical international gathering further highlights a recurring pattern where neighboring governors like Soludo are repeatedly chosen to represent the South-East zone on global economic stages while Enugu is left entirely out of the picture.
