Recover ,Rebuild , Industrialize Nwakabie's Vision for a Prosperous Enugu State

Representing Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji (Nwakaibie), Hon. Chukwunonye Okereke reaffirmed a vision centered on the recovery, rebuilding, and industrialization of Enugu State. This vision is founded on the conviction that Enugu possesses abundant natural and human resources capable of driving sustainable economic growth and improving the lives of its people.

Echoing the message delivered during the Third Session of the 19th Synod of the Diocese of Enugu, where the Bishop emphasized that generating substantial revenue from within the state is achievable through the effective utilization of God-given resources, Nwakaibie's supporters believe that Enugu is richly endowed with untapped economic potential. They maintain that the state does not need to depend solely on external sources of revenue when its agricultural sector, mineral resources, and entrepreneurial capacity can serve as engines of prosperity.

Agriculture remains one of the key pillars of this vision. Through strategic investment in modern farming, agro-processing, and value-chain development, Enugu can create thousands of jobs, strengthen food security, and generate significant internally generated revenue. Beyond agriculture, the state's rich coal deposits present opportunities for industrial growth through responsible value addition, including coal gasification and other energy-based industries capable of powering manufacturing and attracting investment.

This vision also recognizes the burden that excessive taxation places on citizens and businesses. Rather than overtaxing an already struggling population, Nwakaibie advocates expanding the productive economy, creating industries, supporting enterprise, and broadening the revenue base. The objective is to generate sustainable wealth through production and innovation instead of placing increasing financial pressure on the people.
