Rumors Link Atiku and Amaechi for 2027 ADC Presidential Ticket
Rumors circulating on social media have linked former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to a potential joint presidential ticket under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to the speculation, Atiku reportedly emerged as the ADC presidential flagbearer in an internal contest, while Amaechi was said to have finished as runner-up. Supporters of the alleged alliance claim both politicians may have reconciled to form a joint “AA” ticket, reportedly aimed at balancing regional interests between the North-East and South-South.
The purported arrangement, which has not been officially confirmed, is said to be part of ongoing political consultations ahead of the next general elections. Supporters of the idea argue that such a partnership could combine experience, political networks, and regional influence to strengthen the opposition’s chances.
However, critics have questioned the feasibility and public appeal of the rumored alliance, especially in key voter regions where both politicians have strong but mixed followings.
As of now, neither Atiku Abubakar nor Rotimi Amaechi has confirmed any agreement or ticket arrangement, and the report remains unverified speculation circulating online.
