Samuel Chukwueze Attends Mother’s Wake Keep Ahead of Burial in Umuahia

Nigerian football star Samuel Chukwueze was present alongside family members and loved ones during the wake keep ceremony held in honour of his late mother, Prophetess (Dr.) Mrs. Serah Chinyere Chukwueze (née Onyegbule), on Thursday night.

The late Prophetess, aged 59, is scheduled to be laid to rest today, Friday, May 29, 2026, in Umuahia, Abia State.

The wake keep attracted sympathizers, friends, church members, community leaders, and well-wishers who gathered to pay their final respects and support the Chukwueze family during the period of mourning.

Samuel Chukwueze, widely known for his contributions to the Super Eagles and international football, was seen receiving condolences and standing with relatives throughout the emotional ceremony.

Tributes have continued to pour in from fans, colleagues, and members of the football community, many offering prayers and words of comfort to the family.

The burial ceremony is expected to take place in Umuahia with dignitaries, associates, and community members anticipated to attend.
