Saraki Sponsors Nigerian First-Class Mathematics Graduate's Journey to Italy
Former Senate President Bukola Saraki has pledged to sponsor the travel expenses of Adisa Blessing Oluwafikayo, a brilliant Nigerian graduate who recently secured a fully funded master's scholarship to study in Italy.
Blessing, who graduated with a 4.76 CGPA in Mathematics from the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), had taken to social media to seek financial assistance after gaining admission into the University of Calabria, Italy. Although her tuition was fully covered by the scholarship, she explained that she still needed support to cover her visa processing, flight ticket, and other travel-related expenses.
Moved by her story, Saraki responded publicly, describing her academic achievement as inspiring and commending her dedication to excellence.
He announced that he would personally cover the costs of her visa, flight, and other travel logistics through his team, ensuring that financial constraints would not prevent her from pursuing her postgraduate education abroad.
Reacting to the gesture, Blessing expressed profound gratitude, describing Saraki's intervention as a dream come true and thanking him for believing in her potential.
The development has attracted widespread praise on social media, with many Nigerians commending Saraki for supporting education and encouraging outstanding young talents to pursue global academic opportunities.
Many also described the intervention as an example of how exceptional academic performance can attract meaningful support and inspire other young Nigerians striving for excellence.
