Simi’s Lawyer Raises Alarm Over Alleged Coordinated Online Harassment Campaign

Legal counsel to Nigerian singer Simi, Foza Fawehinmi, has raised concerns over what he described as a coordinated online harassment campaign targeting the artiste and her husband, Adekunle Gold.

According to him, a review of over 5,000 social media posts allegedly revealed sustained harassment directed at Simi, including attempts to emotionally distress her during her pregnancy period.

“We reviewed over 5,000 tweets of sustained harassment on Simi and Adekunle Gold. They wanted to make sure she became a shadow of herself, while pregnant at the time. We won’t allow you do that to our client all for monetization,” he stated.

The statement has sparked renewed conversations about online bullying, digital safety, and the mental health impact of persistent harassment of public figures on social media platforms.

While Simi and Adekunle Gold have maintained a relatively private personal life, they are among Nigeria’s most prominent music couples, often drawing significant public attention.

Legal experts note that sustained online harassment, if proven, could fall under cyberbullying and defamation provisions under Nigerian law, depending on the nature and intent of the content shared.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no public response from the individuals allegedly involved in the claims.
