ENUGU, NIGERIA — In a swift and compassionate response to the socio-political fallout of the recently concluded Enugu North Senatorial District Bye-Election, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji, has sent a high-powered delegation to commiserate with electorates who fell victim to widespread election-related violence.

​The delegation visited several injured victims across the senatorial zone who are currently recovering from varying degrees of physical trauma. ​The Contradiction: He noted that if the highly publicized endorsements and declarations of institutional strength by the ruling actors were genuine reflections of the people's will, there would have been no need for such an aggressive, unprecedented deployment of political machinery to intimidate voters and block them from making free choices.
