The Great Ticketing Scam: Peter Mbah’s Aides Peddle False Narratives While the Governor’s Greedy Machine Keeps Bleeding Transporters
Do not be fooled by the clever optics and orchestrated social media noise being pushed by handlers and spin-doctors trying to launder Governor Peter Mbah’s image. The stark, unvarnished truth is that Peter Mbah is far too consumed by revenue generation and absolute greed to ever voluntarily walk away from the multi-million-naira Keke ticketing racket that his administration instituted.
The recent oral proclamations making the rounds—claiming that commercial tricycle tickets have been cancelled—are not coming from a place of executive sincerity. They are desperate, calculated narratives manufactured by people working for him to manage public outrage and trap unsuspecting transporters into staging fake endorsement rallies.
If Governor Mbah were truly serious, he would not rely on microphone pronouncements at political gatherings. Under our constitutional framework and legal standards, taxation and transport revenue collection are matters of law enacted through the State House of Assembly, not market-square fairy tales. Where is the executive bill? Where is the official gazette? Where is the binding circular issued to the Ministry of Transportation and union terminals?
The answer is blowing in the wind of reality: none exists.
As we speak, ticket vendors are still on the streets and at various parks aggressively harassing and extorting Keke operators because no official directive has stopped the cash flow. The entire machinery is designed to squeeze every last kobo out of struggling workers while feeding the insatiable greed of political appointees and terminal managers who treat public transport as their personal ATM.
Ndi Enugu see right through this charade. You cannot brutalize transporters, murder a Keke operator at Gariki market through a ruthless task force without even visiting the grieving family, and then expect people to swallow an oral ticket scam used as bait for 2027 political survival. The greed is too deep, the deception is too loud, and the people will not be fooled by a narrative built on lies!
