UK COURT CONFIRMS FIVE SEXUAL OFFENCE CHARGES AGAINST NIGERIAN ENTERTAINER POCO LEE
LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — Formal legal proceedings have commenced against Nigerian dancer and entertainer Iweh Pascal Odinaka (Poco Lee) following his detention in the United Kingdom on multiple sexual offence charges.
The charges were officially confirmed by James Baker, Administrative Team Leader at Snaresbrook Crown Court in London, through formal correspondence with media representatives. According to the court statement, the defendant has been charged with two counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, and two counts of assault by penetration.
Court authorities confirmed that a strict reporting restriction has been imposed on the proceedings pursuant to Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992. The legal restriction guarantees lifetime anonymity to the complainant, legally prohibiting the media and public from publishing or sharing any details capable of identifying the individual.
Consequently, circulating online reports and unverified social media claims alleging financial disputes, hotel security interventions, or specific individual involvement remain unconfirmed by law enforcement and judicial authorities.
Poco Lee had traveled to London earlier in August 2026 for scheduled entertainment appearances, including the Davido and Friends event at Crystal Palace Bowl. Following his arrest, community leaders in the UK confirmed he remains held on remand in a UK prison pending further court directions.
Management representatives for the entertainer have urged members of the public and media outlets to exercise restraint and avoid speculating on unverified claims while the case is active before the court. They emphasized that Poco Lee has not been convicted of any crime and remains entitled to the presumption of innocence under UK law.
The matter is currently listed for a Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing (PTPH) at Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026, where the defendant is expected to enter a formal plea.
