Umahi Takes Legal Action Over Alleged Defamatory Reports Linking Him to Nurse's Death
The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has commenced legal proceedings against individuals accused of circulating what he describes as false, malicious, and defamatory reports linking him to the death of a nurse, Mary Habila.
According to the minister, the incident was promptly reported to the Nigeria Police Force, while an autopsy has been authorized with the full consent of the deceased's family to establish the cause of death. He firmly denied allegations of any attempt to conceal the circumstances surrounding the incident, describing claims of a cover-up as baseless and misleading.
Umahi maintained that due process is being followed and expressed confidence that the ongoing investigation would establish the facts. He also reaffirmed his commitment to protecting his reputation through lawful means against what he considers deliberate misinformation.
