"WE ARE NOT SLAVES IN OUR OWN LAND!" — REV. PROF. RAPHAEL OGBODO CHARGES NDI ENUGU TO RISE UP AND RESIST POSTER BAN

In a fiery, impassioned sermon that sent shockwaves through the congregation, Rev. Prof. Raphael Ogbodo delivered a bold and unyielding declaration during the crusade organized by Christ Mission For Enugu, calling on the people of Enugu State to reclaim their identity, courage, and fundamental rights.

​Addressing the recent enforcement policy by the Enugu State Structures for Signage and Advertisement Agency (ENSSAA) banning public display posters under the threat of severe financial penalties, the cleric refused to remain silent in the face of what he characterized as blatant political intimidation and overreach.

Spurred by deep conviction, Rev. Prof. Ogbodo directly challenged the premise of the government's crackdown, framing it as a selective tool designed to stifle public expression, church outreach, and political opposition under the guise of regulation.

​"If we no longer want posters in Enugu, that is fine! But we then call on all citizens of Enugu to go out and tear down every single APC poster—from the President down to the local government level at every bus stop and public space!"

Refusing to bow to fear or threats of arrest, Rev. Prof. Ogbodo urged the citizens to reclaim their sovereignty with absolute bravery and unity.

​"If anyone tries to arrest you, fight back! They cannot kill all of us. We are not slaves! you cannot come to Enugu to dictate to Ndi Enugu what to do in their own home. You cannot silence church announcements or wipe away opposition party posters simply out of a selfish desperation to hold onto power!"

​The message resonated through the crowd as a rallying cry against selective enforcement and authoritarian overreach. As discussions surrounding the ENSSAA directive intensify across the state, Rev.
