It was a memorable gathering in Obeagu Oduma, Aninri Local Government Area, as the Obeagu Oduma Women’s Wing welcomed a representative of Hon. Chief Geoffrey Uche Nnaji Nwakaibie, during its August 2026 meeting.

Representing Nwakaibie, Hon. Moses Anayo Obasi Nwachimereze 1 conveyed his principal’s warm greetings to the women and commended them for their sacrifices, dedication to their families, commitment to good parenting, and invaluable contributions to community development.

He urged the women to continue championing peace, unity, mutual support and responsible community leadership, stressing the importance of their role in building a safer, stronger and more prosperous society.

The major highlight of the gathering was the launch of the Obeagu Oduma Women’s Wing Constitution, an initiative aimed at strengthening the organisation’s structure, unity and collective participation.

In support of the occasion, Chief Geoffrey Uche Nnaji Nwakaibie made a cash donation of ₦200,000, while his representative, Hon. Moses Anayo Obasi, further supported the women with ₦100,000 and 10 wrappers.

The women expressed their profound appreciation for the gesture, describing the support as a demonstration of genuine concern for grassroots communities and women’s empowerment. They also pledged their continued support and partnership in promoting development, unity and progress across Aninri.

The gathering reinforced a simple message: Aninri deserves leadership that listens, identifies with the grassroots and stands with its people.

As Enugu State looks towards 2027, the women’s support reflects the growing call for inclusive leadership and stronger grassroots engagement.
