Dickson to Inaugurate NDC Selection Committee Ahead of 2026 Election Preparations
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced plans to formally inaugurate its newly constituted Selection Committee on Monday, May 25, 2026, at its National Secretariat.
According to a press statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director Esq., the inauguration follows the successful completion of screening exercises for governorship, National Assembly, and State House of Assembly aspirants across the country.
The 21-member committee was set up to review and consider reports submitted by the National Screening Committee and State Assembly Screening Committees, with the mandate to make final decisions on the screening outcomes of all aspirants.
The statement explained that the committee is part of the party’s commitment to transparency, internal democracy, and credible candidate selection ahead of the upcoming general elections. It is also tasked with ensuring that the party presents strong and competitive candidates for all elective positions.
The committee will be chaired by the NDC National Chairman, Sen. Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe, and was constituted in line with recommendations from the National Working Committee (NWC) under the guidance of the party leadership.
The inauguration ceremony, scheduled for 4:00pm at the party’s national secretariat, will be performed by the National Leader of the NDC, Sen. Henry Seriake Dickson.
Party officials say the move is part of broader preparations to position the NDC for a strong performance in the forthcoming general elections.
