INEC Announces Schedule for Nationwide PVC Collection and Display of Voter Register Ahead of 2027 General Elections

As momentum builds toward the 2027 general elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has activated key operational phases to ensure full electoral preparedness and transparency across the country. Central to this directive is the official schedule for the display of the voters' register and the widespread distribution of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Under the newly released guidelines, specific parameters have been established to streamline who qualifies for card collection and voter verification. Citizens eligible to collect their PVCs fall primarily into two categories: individuals who completed their voter registration between August 25, 2025, and December 10, 2025, as well as those who registered between 2011 and 2022 but are yet to pick up their cards. Meanwhile, participation in the upcoming display of the register of voters is extended to all citizens who registered across the broader timeline spanning from 2011 through 2026. This critical display period gives the public an essential window to carefully verify their personal voter information, file formal claims or corrections for any observed discrepancies, and conclusively confirm their designated polling units ahead of election day.

The execution timeline released by electoral authorities details a structured two-tier collection and verification process. The initial phase—incorporating both the display of the voter register and grassroots PVC collection—is scheduled to run from October 9 to October 15, 2026, operating daily between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM at designated Registration Area Centers. Following this initial window, the collection process will transition directly to the local tier, moving to INEC Local Government Offices starting from October 16, 2026, maintaining the same daily operational hours of 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Stakeholders, political movements like the Lion Building Media Team, and civic educators have continued to amplify these dates, urging eligible citizens to utilize the designated windows to secure their voter credentials and active participation rights.
