INEC to Issue Access Code to Political Parties for Candidate Upload Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Independent National Electoral Commission has confirmed that it will formally issue an official Access Code to all registered political parties on Friday, June 26, 2026. The code will enable parties to upload details of candidates who emerged victorious from recently concluded primaries across the country.
According to the commission, the process forms part of its preparations for the 2027 general elections and is aimed at ensuring a smooth, transparent, and fully digitized candidate nomination system.
INEC also reiterated that only duly registered political parties will be granted access to the portal for submission of candidate information.
Below is the list of registered political parties eligible for participation in the process, including major parties such as the APC, PDP, LP, APGA, NNPP, ADC, and others totaling 22 registered parties.
The commission emphasized that compliance with the timeline will be mandatory for all parties as part of its electoral guidelines, warning that failure to meet submission deadlines may affect candidate participation in the elections.
