NDC ANNOUNCES N60M PRESIDENTIAL FORM N30M GOVERNOSHIP FORM AHEAD OF ELECTIONS
The National Democratic Coalition (NDC) has announced the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms for aspirants seeking elective positions ahead of the forthcoming elections, with the presidential form pegged at N60 million and governorship form fixed at N30 million.
According to the party leadership, the decision reflects the party’s commitment to organizing a credible and well-structured electoral process while ensuring that only serious and committed aspirants participate in the primaries. Other categories of forms for legislative and local government positions were also reportedly reviewed in line with the party’s internal guidelines.
The development has generated reactions from political observers and members of the public, with some expressing concerns over the rising cost of political participation in Nigeria, while others argue that political parties require substantial resources to conduct transparent primaries and campaign activities.
Analysts note that the increasing cost of nomination forms across political parties continues to raise questions about inclusiveness, youth participation, and equal access to leadership opportunities within the country’s democratic process.
