Supporters Dismiss Rumours of Uche Nnaji Joining NDC, Confirm PDP Governorship Ambition
Fresh political conversations have emerged in Enugu State following rumours suggesting that Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji could align with the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
However, supporters and loyalists of the former minister have strongly dismissed the claims, maintaining that Uche Nnaji remains fully committed to the Peoples Democratic Party and has no intention of leaving the party.
According to political associates, Chief Nnaji has already officially obtained the PDP governorship nomination form and successfully participated in the party’s screening process, reaffirming his position within the PDP structure in Enugu State.
Supporters further argued that the politician does not need to rely on the popularity or political influence of any external movement or coalition to strengthen his governorship ambition, insisting that his growing grassroots support and political acceptance across Enugu remain strong on their own.
The reactions followed increasing online speculation and political commentary linking several opposition figures and governorship aspirants to possible new political alignments ahead of the next general elections.
Political observers say such rumours are expected as consultations, alliances, and strategic calculations continue to shape the political atmosphere ahead of 2027.
Meanwhile, supporters of Uche Nnaji continue to project confidence in his political chances, describing him as a major contender whose influence has continued to grow across different parts of the state.
As political activities intensify, analysts believe party loyalty, grassroots mobilization, and internal party structures will play decisive roles in determining the eventual outcome of the Enugu governorship race.
