Federal High Court Orders Final Forfeiture of 48 Properties Worth ₦212 Billion Linked to Former AGF Abubakar Malami
The Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered the final forfeiture of 48 out of 57 properties valued at approximately ₦212 billion and linked to former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami. In her ruling, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik upheld the EFCC's application, dismissing objections from Malami, his family members, and associated companies. The court emphasized that the central issue was not ownership of the properties but the legitimacy of the funds used to acquire them. The assets, located across Abuja, Kebbi, Kano, and Kaduna States, include luxury hotels, residential estates, commercial plazas, warehouses, educational institutions, and other high-value properties.
