Tragedy in Kogi: Combined Forces Repel Mass Abduction Attempt at GSS Iluke; Vice Principal and Two Others Killed
A heavily armed gang of bandits operating on dozens of motorcycles stormed Government Secondary School in Iluke, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, in a failed attempt to carry out a mass abduction of students writing their WASSCE exams. While a joint force of police, military, and local vigilantes successfully repelled the invaders after a fierce gun duel, the attack tragically claimed the lives of the school's Vice Principal and two community residents, drawing sharp nationwide condemnation from figures like Peter Obi, who warned that Nigerian children are being turned into pawns for commercial leverage.
